Positive feedback on 'Wordhoard'

The Society for Storytelling Annual Gathering 2003

Here are just some excerts from the enormous amount of positive feedback received after the Gathering.

All the evaluation forms have now been analysed and the few negative comments have been noted for next years event 'Out of Eden' which will be held in Penrith, Cumbria on 2nd - 4th April 2004.

...we all, I say ALL enjoyed the fruits of your hard work, the place, food, w/shops/ ceilidh/yurt all wonderful in an easy atmosphere. Bravo.!!

Thought I would leave it a few days before I contacted you to say what a fab weekend it all was. I was really pleased with all the workshops etc I took part in.....the food was good and my accomodation was really nice!! It was also great to see everyone again... Infact there was a really good atmosphere the whole weekend... So congrats on an excellent gathering.

Many thanks and congratulations for a very sucessful and enjoyable conference at Woodbridge last weekend. My first and a very enjoyable experience (apart form the cold nights and you can't do much about the weather). The college staff were very friendly and welcoming and Sam Newton was unique. The committee were always available for any admin problem.I found being a steward busy but a great experience.

First of all, thanks for such an excellent weekend, and thanks for letting me be a steward. I really enjoyed the 'feel' of the two evening entertainments, very casual and professional simultaneously. ensuring that most of the performers were connected with the locality in some way really worked well, giving us a sense of place and completely reducing the mystique of the 'elitism' sometimes just a little bit in evidence at these events to - well, rubble, really. When I say casual, I mean informal and accessible to all, even though it was obvious that Hugh had everything under control…perhaps he didn't, and it was all just an illusion again...

A hugely enjoyable Gathering was the emphasis for me. I’ve come away refreshed and full of enthusiasm for the coming years ups and downs in storytelling. Well done everyone that was involved. I’m long enough in the tooth to be able to make my own free time. If the programme is as full as yours was, then I’d just leave gaps the next time. The younger folk might have felt pressured but then, they’ve got more energy than an old codger like me. My criticisms in no way detract from what you did. So for me you score 10/10

A very good event, well organised, fun, friendly and useful. Good variety of entertainment generally.
