Membership of the SfS entitles you to:

quarterly newsletter called "Storylines"
quarterly Storytelling Diary
optional membership of SfS e-mail list.
optional membership of the SfS discussion list
reduced rates for SfS publications
discounts for entry to SfS events ‡
the 'Talkshop' tales on tape, mail order service
voting rights for policy making and election of Directors †
stand as a candidate for election to the board of Directors †

† Group members are entitled to one vote only and overseas members cannot stand as Directors as there are restrictions regarding travelling expenses.

‡ Group members are entitled to discounts for 3 delegates at events

Annual Membership fee

Memberships are due for renewal annually during the quarter in which you joined. Payment must be in £ Sterling (Banks charge £8.00 to change foreign cheques). Cheques should be made out to "The Society for Storytelling", and drawn on a UK bank.

Annual Membership rates (as of May 2006) are:

Overseas membership has a surcharge to cover extra postage:
within Europe	+ £5.00
outside Europe	+ £11.50

The concessionary rate applies to anyone who is unwaged: students, pensioners, unemployed or on a low income.
