June 2006

5th - 12th June 2006 Myths and Oracles of Greece
Experience the power and magic of ancient myth told in the places where they were once held sacred. Spend a week in the company of storyteller Chris Smith and classical scholar Carolyn Perry, visiting the temples of Ancient Greece. Every day, stories of the Gods will be told in the magical atmosphere of the ancient shrines, nourishing your imagination in an epic landscape. Spectacular scenery, mythic monuments and timeless tales combine in a unique experience of story and place.
You will hear tales of Zeus in his Oracle at Dodona; at Necromanteon we visit Hades and Persephone in the Oracle of the Dead; at Kassiope we meet the Goddess of Love in her sanctuary; in Orraon we remember Achilles; in Thermos enter the Temple of Artemis; and finally a day with Apollo at the Oracle of Delphi.
In the evenings there will be time for optional lectures on the mythology and history, to further deepen your understanding of the Gods and heros we encounter, and a chance for those who wish to develop their own storytelling skills.
